Barbara J. Riesberg of RiesbergLaw was installed today as the President-Elect of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Miami-Dade County. In 1999 the Women’s Chamber established the Thelma Gibson Awards of Excellence to honor its founder. Each year, the award honors an individual and a corporation that has excelled in promoting leadership, excellence and business development among corporate and professional women. This year we have added the category of Student Achiever, recognizing our future women leaders.

On January 21, 2009 Winners of the Thelma Gibson Award of Excellence will be announced at our annual Award and Installation luncheon. We are currently accepting nominations for each of the categories. Nominees must have a presence in Miami-Dade County and will be judged on their Leadership and Support of Professional Women, Business Excellence and Community Involvement.

Ashley Aronowitz-Barron has joined the team at RiesbergLaw as an Associate. Ashley received a J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, a Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida.
